A spot the difference game, with a criminal update

spot the difference is a classic puzzle. yet nobody has ever added a crime layer. we created a game that lets you live your fantasy of being a CSI, using real-life produced crime scenes and an engaging crime narrative.
The storyline
you are a crime scene cop. after a series of crime scenes are tampered with, you start to notice some patterns. it’s not long before you realise a serial killer is on the loose, and they’re sending you a message…
each level consists of 2 images. players zoom in and tap on the screen every time they spot a difference. they can watch ads for clues, or for new lives.

PRODUCTION
we shot over 50 “real” crime scenes using expert modellers and effects in locations all over london. no photoshop was used, each difference was removed/switched by hand.
App design
As our crime scenes were so striking, and so different, we needed a design that worked with every palette SO to not distract the player. the infamous crime scene yellow acted as our accent colour.
